About the Project
This work was completed over 4 years on the north side of Columbus.
Introduction
This community is situated just north of Columbus and consists of (34) Multi Unit Buildings. The community requested us to help them update their homes with new pre-finished vinyl siding and bull-dog gutter guards replaced as needed. The project was top priority for the community, their intention was to refresh the property and extend the lifespan of each building, which would help increase their home values. The community’s main concern, and our overall task, was to find an exterior finishing system to prevent the expected continued cost increases of cedar.
Our Solution
We were able to find a pre-finished wood composite siding that kept the same look the community wished to maintain while providing more benefits than normal cedar siding. This product offered a 50-year material warranty and a 25-year paint warranty. This product helped the community save their entire yearly budget for maintaining the cedar siding which was previously in place, as well as the next 25 years to come. This product was paired with new gutters, matching caulk, all new composite trim boards, and premium hydro-gap house wrap. We also installed half inch plywood on the full exterior of each building due to the lack of any existing house wrap or sheeting. Once the new plywood sheeting and hydro-gap was in place, we installed the new siding and gutter systems.
Results
Due to this project starting in late 2019, we had to manage and coordinate working through the entirety of the Covid-19 pandemic and the many problems that came with that. We dedicated a full-time project manager along with 2 on-site crews working 12 months of the year to deliver the final product. We were in constant communication with the community’s board to address any issues that arose and ensure they were satisfied. We continue to work with this client, and have been invited back, working on new projects with them at the time of writing.
