Case Study: Community - Roofing – Multi Unit Building Community Project
About the Project
This work is ongoing and each year the community requests a certain number of buildings to be completed.
Background
This community is the eastern section of Cincinnati and consist of 27 Multi Unit Buildings. The community requested us to help them with their roofing project in 2021, bringing us in to remedy unsatisfactory work that was done in the past. This project was top priority for the community, their intention was to update their homes with dimensional shingles to refresh the property and improve the community’s overall aesthetic. This would help increase home values and remedy any active roof leaks.
Challenge
The roofing systems throughout this community were not performing how they should be. Active leaks were present along with concerns of home water intrusion. Potential roof decking and framing issues also needed to be addressed. We were tasked with removing all layers of shingles, inspecting roof decking, and all roof penetrations followed by replacement of the roofing system.
Our Solution
We crafted a plan to perform this work in multiple phases, carefully working through each individual building in the community. This required a team of highly skilled tradesman and laborers. Roofing projects require high levels of coordination and care, as the residents were living in the units while the project was underway. Making sure to remove debris and cleaning the ground thoroughly was very important to us and the residents.
The Final Product
To complete these projects each year, PPS has focused on what the community needs are and how to best service them. This level of care and attention allows us the opportunity to continue this roofing project year in and year out. The community board is so thankful and satisfied with our work that they contact us for a plethora of other trade needs within the community.
