Case Study: Gutter Cleaning & Resecuring – 14 Buildings / 17 Carports
Introduction
The community where this project occurred is in Dublin, OH just North of downtown Columbus. The residential buildings are nestled under a large canopy of trees. This has led to falling leaves, sticks, and debris building up in the gutter systems over many years. This gutter cleaning project was top priority for the community to refresh the gutters and save funds by avoiding a complete replacement of the gutter system.
Challenge
The previous owners had not had the gutters cleaned since the property was purchased, resulting in the gutters beginning to deteriorate. When debris piles up in a gutter, it leads to issues such as overloaded gutters, clogging, exterior damage from water streaking, and more. It is essential to keep gutters secured and clean for them to function properly. These gutters had started to sag and completely disconnect from the structure due to the overloading and clogging.
Our Solution
We accessed the roof of each building, surveying all gutters. Any gutter run that was starting to come loose was re-secured. Any area with built up debris was collected and disposed of in bags, taken to an off-site dumpster. The gutters were then blown out to clear small debris and dust.
Results
PPS was able to complete this project on a short two-day timeline with minimal impact on the residents. The community was extremely thankful and immediately noticed a difference during the next heavy rainfall. After not having their gutters cleaned prior, they have signed up for yearly gutter cleaning with PPS to prevent the issue from arising again.
